Biography

David Keck is a New York based writer and teacher from Winnipeg, Canada. Growing up on the prairies, he filled pads of newsprint with drawings and stories.

After completing degrees in English Literature/History and Education in Winnipeg he travelled to England’s University of Sussex to get an MA in creative writing (after a Scottish writing teacher told him he’d “be wasted in a junior high”).

He likes nothing better than clambering around castles, cathedrals, and bits of Neolithic stonework — and has managed to drag friends and relations from the South of France all the way up to the Orkney Islands in pursuit of them.

In 2004, he moved to the United States to marry a New Yorker.

He is currently teaching middle school in New York’s Washington Heights.
